Friends of Nature depends mostly on grants from large foundations for the money to run our operation. Our Annual Budget for operating expenses is US $750,000 (3/4 million!) for basic expenses - salaries, fuel, maintenance, basic supplies, rent. This does not include projects, community work, research and science or other essentials. As a Non-Government Organization, we must raise our entire budget. We are very proud of the fact that we provide a significant amount to the economy of our local surrounding communities, but this much money can be difficult to raise.
Friends of Nature is beginning a membership drive so that you can help with our on-going conservation efforts. For a small fee, you, too, can be a member. Friends of Friends receive quarterly newsletter and logo decal. Special Friends also receive a free copy of the latest version of Full Sail, and other perks. Exceptional Friends can schedule a trip to Little Water Caye to enjoy Bar-B-Q with the Rangers. Lifelong Friends get all the above for their entire lives. Most importantly, no matter which level of giving, ALL Friends are helping to make Friends of Nature achieve its mission.
